Notetaking on Camera Techniques

INTERVIEWING:
• What seven items should you bring with you when you are shooting an interview?
(Clocks: camera Tick: Tape Tock: Tripod  Making:Microphone Heads: Headphones Pound: Powersource Loudly: Light Source)
No Tripod= wrong.
• Shooting into a light source = Button to adjust = Causes a SILHOUETTE



• You always want the light  _behind the camera____________________.

• On what object should you focus the camera?
zoom all the way in, focus, then go out


• No tripod= Wrong


• Date and Time=
this is permanently recorded on your tape
When would we want the DATE and TIME permanently stamped on tape?
I SAY NEVER!!!


• SP/EP
Standard play, extended play


• Camera shoots in ________________.

• Pre-Roll-
2-3 seconds before shooting/ talking

• Post-Roll-
2-3 sec after shooting/talking


CAMERA SHOTS:

dynamic has some depth, not plain
interviewee is at least 6-8 feet from wall

• Interview Shot= 2 Eyes and 1 Ear
want them a little off center


1 Shot=  Used for Show.
Should be nipples and up..

• 1 Shot with graphic= 


• 2 Shot=  Show only

• Rule of thirds-  Eye catching part should be at the center (i.e. eyes...)

CAMERA MOVEMENTS:
• Tilt-    Up and DOWN
Used to show height

• Pan-  TO LEFT AND RIGHT
Follow action, show depth

• Zoom-  Get closer to an object
Magnifies your image
Magnifies movement as well
• Dolly/Truck-
